GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS

RANM’s government affairs division encompasses four major activities: legislative activity, issue/position development, fundraising for the political action committee, and grassroots involvement. RANM monitors legislative proposals and proposed rules which may affect REALTORS® or private property rights.

An extensive volunteer network is involved in government affairs, with REALTORS® across the state serving on committees and task forces that further our knowledge and ability to take action to protect homeowners, commercial property owners, and landowners.

REALTORS® are active at three levels:
• New Mexico State policies, rules and legislation are monitored by the
REALTORS® Association of New Mexico which advocates for REALTORS®
   and private property rights.
• Local REALTOR® boards and associations address issues at the county and city level.
• Federal government affairs are monitored and lobbied by the National Association of REALTORS®.
