Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) Reference Information

The GRI is awarded only to those REALTORS® who have completed the required GRI Curriculum.  The GRI program is delivered by the REALTORS® Association of New Mexico and meets the standards established by the National Association of REALTORS ®.
The GRI Curriculum consists of 48 hours of GRI Core Courses plus 42 hours of courses selected by the candidate from specific categories of New Mexico Real Estate Commission Approved Continuing Education Courses and must be completed within 5 years.
A student has five (5) years to complete all designation requirements. Courses may be taken in any order. Only REALTORS® can obtain and use the GRI designation.  You must maintain your REALTORS® membership to continue to use the designation. The GRI designation gives instant recognition, signifying a dedicated and knowledgeable agent. Wear the GRI pin, prominently display the GRI certificate, and use the GRI logo on business cards and stationery. Make the most of your prestigious accomplishment.

National Association of REALTORS ® (NAR) Designations and Certifications

  • The Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI)
  • REALTOR® University
    is the National Association of REALTOR'S® Internet-based online education system where real estate professionals can take courses online for continuing education credit, professional development, and designation certification. You can take the courses offered by REALTOR® University in your home, your office, or while traveling--24 hours a day, seven days a week--with just a computer and an Internet connection
  • NAR EDUCATION MATRIX
    Developed as a cooperative effort among NAR and its affiliated Institutes, Societies and Councils, the NAR Education Matrix is the one place to find information about all the designations, certifications, courses, seminars and online education offered by NAR and its affiliated Institutes, Societies and Councils.

  • REALTOR® Family Designation Programs
    The National Association of REALTORS ® has nine affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils that provide a wide-ranging menu of programs and services that assist members in increasing skills, productivity and knowledge. Designations acknowledging experience and expertise in various real estate sectors are awarded by each Affiliated group upon completion of required courses. In addition, NAR offers five certification programs to its members.

    At Home With Diversity®
    At Home With Diversity® is an educational experience designed to present a picture of the changing face of the real estate industry. More importantly, the course teaches how real estate professionals can increase their sensitivity and adaptability to future market trends. Additionally, you will learn to thrive as an effective service provider and community leader. The course addresses issues of diversity, fair housing, and cultural differences. All three subjects are closely related and have value for real estate professionals who must serve diverse local markets.
