Fifty years ago, on April 11, 1968, President Lyndon Baines Johnson signed the Fair Housing Act into law, a measure that has had a major impact in home ownership throughout the country and in New Mexico.

The REALTORS Association of New Mexico (RANM) has joined the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) in the year-long commemoration of the anniversary of this significant and historical legislation.

In addition, April has been declared “Fair Housing Month” in a proclamation signed by Governor Susana Martinez (see proclamation).
