This year, REALTORS® stood together and achieved major victories at the Roundhouse — protecting our industry, our clients, and private property rights across New Mexico.
Thanks to RPAC investors, we supported key bills that strengthen our communities:
- 🏡 Veteran Property Tax Exemptions – Increased exemptions for veterans and ensured they adjust for inflation.
- 🔥 Wildfire Preparedness Act – Established new programs and funding to protect homes and communities.
- 🏘️ Strategic Economic Development Site Readiness – Invested in community growth and job creation.
- 💻 Nonprofit Condo Associations Remote Business – Made HOA operations easier and more efficient.
And we also stopped harmful proposals that could have damaged our industry:
- 🚫 Purchase of Single-Family Homes Prohibition – Would have banned businesses and LLCs from buying homes, reducing investment and housing options.
- 🚫 Rent Control – Would have allowed local rent control ordinances that drive up costs and reduce availability.
- 🚫 Unlicensed Property Managers – Would have weakened consumer protections.
- 🚫 Condo Occupancy Mandates – Would have restricted flexibility for buyers and associations.
- 🚫 Eviction Record Expungement – Would have erased important rental history data.
These wins didn’t happen by accident — they happened because REALTORS® invested in RPAC.
As of November 1, 2025, the New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR) and our member boards have collectively raised $275,622.00, which represents 85% of the overall $325,000 fundraising goal for the year. Participation across the state stands at 34%, with 2,508 actual participants out of a target of 2,766 (based on a 37% participation goal).
